Continuing to provide on-going Fire Protection services including fire suppression design, life safety code consulting, egress plans, fire hazard analysis and technical review of various fire-protection related system documents as-needed.

Provided suppression system design including shop drawings, hydraulic calculations and stocklisting reports for the 165,000 square foot casino. This casino houses a 500-seat bingo hall, 998 slot machines, 35-seat keno area, 25 poker tables, two dozen blackjack tables, sports bar, 250-seat buffet, a high-end steakhouse, fast food area and lounges.

Provided services for district-wide fire and security replacement projects. The 2011 Zone 2 & 3 project included Pennington Elementary, Van Arsdale Elementary, Vanderhoof Elementary, Welchester Elementary, Wilmore-Davis Elementary and Everitt Middle School. The 2012 North Area project includes Drake Middle School, Adams Elementary, Eiber Elementary, Elk Creek Elementary, Warder Elementary, and the South Transportation building. The 2013 project includes Allendale Elementary, Bergen Valley Elementary, Coal Creek Elementary, Shelton Elementary, Thompson Elementary and Jefferson High School.
All designs were completed on an expedited schedule. To verify existing conditions and code compliance, field surveys were conducted. Project design included construction drawings, cost estimates, specifications, and construction administration services.
Ocean Science Laboratory

Veritas Fire Engineering served as the Design-Build Contractor Fire Protection Engineering Firm for the 190,000 sf office and laboratory building. Veritas prepared Life Safety Code Analysis, verified adequacy of water supply for fire suppression system, designed life safety, fire alarm and fire sprinkler construction documents and was responsible for fire systems inspection and testing. Laboratories included at this location were Current Meter Lab, Engineering Sonar Lab, Glider Lab, Mechanical Lab, METOC Enterprise Engineering Lab, Optics Lab, Pressure Vessel Lab, Shipboard Configuration Center and Ocean Sensor Calibration Lab, Shipboard Systems Lab, Shore Test Equipment Allowance Program, and the Systems Integration Lab.

Performed site surveys on the following buildings: Public Works Building, Cinder Storage Building, Fleet Maintenance, Log Cabin, Court House, Court House Plaza, Jail, Data Center, Health & Human Services, Senior Center, Crew House, Hazmat Storage Building, SMRF Building and the Gate House. Surveys were performed to provide a facilities condition audit for the assessment of egress, fire alarm, fire suppression and access control systems. Services included prioritizing deficiencies to create a 10-year Capital Repair, Maintenance and Replacement program.
